Whipper snipping

There is a machine that in New Zealand is called a weed eater, and on this website they are called all different names, but in Aussie is called a whipper snipper. The term weed eater more or less speaks for itself, but a whipper snipper could be anything. It could snip hair or toenails or pieces of paper etc.

Anyway, around this house sit there is a reasonable amount of whipper snipping to do. The back of this section is large, with lots of gum trees and what we call ‘the little forest’, an area where the old palm fronds go along with other large bits of rubbish, and is home to hares, lizards, some whopping spiders, birds and probably snakes.

Peter mows this area with the ride on mower. But he decided to tidy it up a bit more, so he has been out there with the whipper snipper trimming the grass right down so he can mow more of it. He has really tidied it up.

This is not so clear really. You can see Peter and the ride on  mower. He is putting some palm fronds on the little forest area. You can also see a line of green where the long grass starts. This long grass goes all the way to the top of  the hill where the section ends.

And here is almost the same scene with no long grass. He has cleared well towards the back fence. Quite a big job really, but it has nicely tidied up the back area.
